What Our Ministry Teams Are About

Just like the ranch house was a place for the early westerners to gather, the wagon trains were a way for them to go out into new territory. As suggested, the wagon train was a group of wagons traveling to promote a banding together for assistance. A captain was chosen from the group to get everyone up and moving and to guide them in their travels. They found that smaller groups were more manageable than larger ones and membership in the wagon train was open to wagons joining, or leaving, according to the owners’ needs.  So is true of our Ministry Teams. They are designed to act as wagon trains; organizing and providing assistance to the many activities of the church.

Red River Cowboy Church has two primary goals:

  • to tell people about Jesus Christ
  • to help them make Him a priority in their daily lives.

This is the primary task of our Ministry Teams. There’s a Team Leader in each group to guide the activities of that ministry. The teams are flexible in their membership and often “fan out” in the activities they use to meet the needs of the people. Our Ministry Teams operate in the Pioneer spirit of adventure!

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
