“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
Choosing Christ is a personal matter. If you have never trusted Jesus Christ to forgive you of sin and to be a daily influence in your life, then you are missing out on the adventure of your lifetime. Salvation is available to everyone. It is simply believing that He is the One True God and choosing to make Him a priority each day as you go through life. Expect to have a different feeling in your heart and expect to continue to make mistakes. There’ll still be struggles. But with Christ now a part of your life, you won’t feel quiet so discouraged, or hopeless. It’s a journey, so look forward to learning and growing as a Christian. We call it, “Riding with the One who brands us.” And we suggest that you find a church family that will love, support, and encourage you. It will make the journey a lot easier and so much more fun.
If you’re at a loss for words, here’s a prayer God would love to hear. But don’t hesitate to use your own words and just say what’s in your heart, He’d love to hear that, too.
“Lord I admit to You and myself that I have not been the person that You created me to be. I’ve lived the brand of the world. Now, O Lord, I want to live by Your Brand. I know that I have sinned against You. Lord, I am a sinner who needs Your forgiveness and salvation. I believe in my heart that You died for my sins. I believe that You were raised from the grave and are alive forever more. I confess my sins before You today and I turn from them. I ask You to come into my life and make me into the person You want me to become. I place my complete faith and trust in You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen”
